BONES OF HAND
The hand is divided into carpus, metacarpal and phalanges.
Carpal bones
There are eight bones distributed in two rows: Proximal and Distal.
Proximal Row: Scaphoid, Semilunar, Pyramidal and Pisiform
Metacarpal Bones
It consists of 5 metacarpal bones that are numbered in the lateromedial direction in I, II, III, IV and V and correspond to the fingers of the hand. Considered long bones, they have a proximal epiphysis that is the base, a diaphysis (body) and a distal epiphysis that is the head.
